Kumbh Mela at Haridwar is the most auspicious & religious mass pilgrimage festival/event in Hindu religion, occurs in every 12 years. During the event, there is a largest peaceful gathering of people from around the world with millions of devotees and pilgrims partaking in the grand pilgrimage. During the auspicious occasion, Pilgrimage takes a dip in the holy river of the Ganges to absolve all their sins.
This year in 2021, Haridwar Kumbh Mahaparva has already begun on 14th January. The First Shahi Snan (Royal Bath) is scheduled to happen on 11th March, and second & third ones will be on 12th and 14th April respectively. Haridwar Kumbh Mela would be ending on 27th April with a Shahi Snan.
As we all know that this time the preparations for Haridwar Kumbh 2021 are going on in the shadow of Corona virus infection. And now the religious city Haridwar, which is getting ready for the Kumbh Mahaparva of this faith, has become filled with colors of folk traditions and culture which will awaken the spirit of faith in the mind of the devotees as well as introduce them to the mythological heritage of the place.
In this regard, the state government of Uttarakhand is committed to the ‘divine and grand’ Kumbh and efforts are being made that crores of devotees coming here should also be aware of the folk and cultural heritage of Uttarakhand.
As part of the serious efforts being made by the government to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Devbhoomi (the land of Gods) Uttarakhand, it is being depicted through painting for the Kumbh. The colors of the traditions and culture of the Devbhoomi are engraved on the walls and vacant spaces. Somewhere images of deities, gods and religious traditions have come alive.
The walls of bridges, ghats, etc., including government buildings in the Kumbh region, are decorated with mythological and cultural images of religious beliefs. The purpose behind this is that with the awakening of faith in the minds of the devotees who come from the country and the world, they can also get to know the tradition, culture and mythological heritage of the state.
