It is about the two musicians and their incredible journey. It won four national and international awards. It was screened at Toronto in 2013, later it was released in India in 2014.
2. Delhi Safari (2012)
It is a 3D animated bilingual comedy feature film by Nikhil Advani. It was first released in Annecy in June 2012 before it released in India in October 2012. It is a story of five animals and birds on their journey to Delhi. It stars Akshay Khanna, Boman Irani and Urmila Matonkar. It received four national awards. It is a funny and entertaining movie.
3. Arjun : The Warrior Prince (2012)
It is a 2D animation movie directed by Arnab Chaudhari. It is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Walt Disney Pictures. The movie is based on the life of Arjun, the third Pandavas. The movie shows all the events, actions and adventures of Arjuna’s life. It won ‘FICCI BAF Award,’ for best Indian Animation Feature Film in 2013.
4. Char Sahibzaade (2014)
It is a Punjabi 3D computer animated drama film by Harry Baweja. It is based on the sacrifices made by the sons of the 10th Guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh. The film revolves around the stories of Sahibzada Ajit Singh (played by Harman Baweja), Fateh Singh, Zorawar Singh and Jujhar Singh. The narration of the movie is provided by Om Puri. It very well handles the historical values, sentiments. It is also released in Hindi and English.
5. Kochadiyaan (2014)
It is a Tamil historical fiction. Directed by Soundarya R. Ashwin and written by K.S.Ravikumar, this can be considered as one of the best Indian animated movie. Amitabh Bachcchan provides the Hindi narration while the Tamil narration is provided by Rajnikanth. Deepika Padukone as Shobhana is incredible. The music by A.R.Rahman is soothing to ears. The movie becomes one of the India’s first photorealistic motion film where the characters of the movie looked exactly like the actors who gave them voice. It was the most successful animated movies at international box office.
6. Roadside Romeo (2008)
This movie definitely started the new era of Indian 3D animation. The movie was produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Raj Films. It was directed and written by Jugal Hansraj. It starred Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. It was distributed to UK, US by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It was not a very successful movie but it received National Film Award for best animation.
7. Hanuman (2005)
It is not false to say that the journey of Indian Animation started from this movie. It is a first full-length 2D animated movie. It depicts the story of the life of Hindu God, Hanuman. It was directed by V.G.Samant and was produced jointly by Percept Pictures and Silvertoons and was created by Kakarakaya Pulsu. The narrator of the movie was Mukesh Khanna. The movie was a hit at box office with 8.18 cr.
8. Ramayana : The Epic (2010)
It was the first animated picturization of the epic. It was directed by Chetan Desai at Maya Digital Media. In India it was produced and distributed by Warner Bros. it collected 1.45 cr. at the box office.
9. Bal Ganesha (2010)
The movie was made using 2D and 3D animation sketches. It shows the childhood stories of God Ganesha. It is a colorful, musical and action movie. Kids love watching this movie. It was directed by Pankaj Sharma. It was a Shemaroo Entertainment Movie.
10. Mahabharata (2013)
The movie was directed by Aman Khan. It is a picturization of Mahabharata, the epic. It stars Ajay Devgn, Vidhya Balan, Amitabh Bachcchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, Deepti Naval and many more. It was the most expensive animated movie of India. It too depicted the faces of actors who played the famous characters. But the film flopped with only 1.5 cr. at box office.
