The fate of Gadiya Blacksmith in India: Time for Social Paradigm Shift

The fate of Gadiya Blacksmith in India - Filming Indo 5[DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_SOCIAL_ICONS]

Around 40,000 carts of blacksmiths (Also called Lohar in Hindi) are living in Delhi state and its adjacent districts and states. These people, bound by the pledge of Maharana Pratap, now want their children to join the system and shape their future. If the old traditions have to be broken for the future of the children, then the ancestors do not get angry, but instead show their blessings. This is a perfect story for a documentary film in India.

A long narrative breathes at the core of the vows. In it, deep sorrow, resentment, courage and a pleasant hope of future are felt together. It can also be a resistance to its present and a vision of a beautiful dream. The blacksmiths also took one such pledge. Which got more and more frequent over time. But now it seems that the right time has come for Maharana’s descendants to break the pledge. They are studying, growing and even dreaming of their camp being permanent.

The fate of Gadiya Blacksmith in India - Filming IndoGadiya Lohar ‘is a community whose car is its home. His adorned cars are his identity. In the wheels of these vehicles, there has been a nail to keep their household and family moving continuously. Some years old pledge is still tied in this nail. What was that promise after all?

It is talked about when Maharana Pratap was fighting with the Mughals in the sixteenth century. The ancestors of the vehicles blacksmiths were in the army of Maharana Pratap. Maharana Pratap was defeated in the struggle with the Mughals and his kingdom went to the Mewar Mughals.

These steel soldiers of the defeated Maharana’s army vowed that they would not return to Mewar until Mewar and Chittor were again ruled by Maharana Pratap Singh Sisodia. They have been running since then.

Decades passed, centuries passed but they did not break the pledge. This pledge has become the identity of their community. They make their home in the car and start on the unknown path. Gadiya blacksmiths who came out of Mewar in Rajasthan have now reached many states of the country. In their journey, They have the skills to mold iron into their own custom shape.

Previously, where they made weapons for Maharana Pratap’s army, now with the changing times, they make and sell iron goods used in homes and fields. From pan, tongs to shovel, chisel, hammer too. In the dust of the time, sun, storm, rain, their skill was the roof of their head and the ground under his feet.

The fate of Gadiya Blacksmith in India - Filming Indo

Carriage blacksmiths have now spread across the country, carrying their household in their car. People belonging to this community, originally from Mewar in Rajasthan, are now present in every district of Rajasthan. Most of their camps are outside the villages. This is because they do not like to socialize with any other community. They also have their own catering and relatives within their own community. Even now their language has the smell of Mewar.

The dress and family structure is still the same. They are classified as nomadic communities according to lifestyle. Due to non-inclusion of Scheduled Tribes, such efforts have not been made for their welfare, as has been done for primitive and tribal communities.

The fate of Gadiya Blacksmith in India - Filming Indo

Prof. S.P. Ruhela did extensive research on the nomadic castes of Rajasthan in the year 1960. Professor Ruhela, along with his students, had gathered a lot of information about the children of these nomadic castes. Later he also published a small book in 1997.

This 70-page book titled Children of Indian Nomads gives remarkable information on children of four nomadic castes. One of them is the children of the Gadiya Lohar community. Children of the Gadiya Lohar community are forced to live a deprivation childhood due to the pledge of their ancestors. Due to the ever growing carriage, the ever rising camp, they are not getting the permanent life which is necessary for the nutrition and development of children.

Their business, which is centuries old, is also very difficult to get bread for them for two times. Parents work hard all day for this. The children reaching their age also learn the skills of beating iron. Their childhood is withering somewhere amidst the burning iron. They are deprived of both nutrition and education.

Apart from Rajasthan, their encampments can be seen along the road in the states adjoining it. Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh as well as Delhi have a good number of them. With the change of time, there are many people who have come forward for their welfare. The volunteers of Mahamana Malaviya Mission, formed since 2014, are working among these communities.

Senior advocate of Supreme Court Prakash Gautam is associated with this institution and has been working for the development of the Gadiya Lohar community for the last several years. Prakash Gautam says that he has 55 camps in different places in Delhi. Where they live with their community. Talking of all these together, their population in Delhi will be around forty thousand.

Now the children of this community are also interested in reading. But due to backwardness and economic scarcity, they were unable to fulfill their desire. We have tried to help them by removing their lack of it.

We make their families aware and persuade them to send children to school. Also, we have made arrangements for giving supplementary classes, ie tuition, for the children who are going to school, do not be left behind in studies. Our volunteers are working all over Delhi. Those who give supplementary classes every day to help these children in their studies.

Permanence is very important for a beautiful future. When they stay in one place, then it will be easier for them to work for their future and to include them in the Kalyaniyari schemes. Their nomadic tendency is the biggest inhibitor of their development. Now it seems that the right time to break this tradition has come.

Celebrating Holi Festival in Varanasi, An Experience of Eternity

[DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_SOCIAL_ICONS]

“Brahma once weighed the heavens against Kashi. And Kashi, being heavier, sank while the skies, despite all the gods who lived there, rose upwards.”

Adi Shankaracharya, the establisher of four mathas, said these wise words about Varanasi, formerly Kashi, explaining its divinity and religious Florence as compared to other historical places in India. Varanasi is famous for several reasons, be it the Ganges, or the famous Assi ghat, Kashi Naresh’s quila, or even the wholesome Ghats present there, all of them being a center of global attraction and a location for filming in India. International Film Makers have to get an allowance from the Film and Documentary Permissions in India to gather the information they need based on the documentaries they are filming.

Also known as the Mukti Dham or salvation point on earth, Kashi has a rich mythological history and culture as well. Some of the Indian festivals have a different aura when celebrated here. Mahashivratri, Holi, Diwali, Shraawan Maas are among others. The festival celebrated here which intrigued us the most is Holi.

Holika Dahan

Holika Dahan is the ritual often followed throughout the northern and western India. In this, a pyre is burnt in the open areas, as a remark of win of good over evil. This is celebrated differently in Varanasi, as the pyres are situated on the Ghats. Tourists and International film makers, directors, producers from different production companies across the world are there after the consultation from Documentary research companies in India who often document the ritual of the Ganges to be lit up saffron with the flames burnt on its shores, for not less than 10-20 kilometers. This scene is magnificent to look at and this makes Holika Dahan much sought-after pre-Holi celebrations among the locals and tourists as well. Translator and Interpreter support in India helps out the tourists and overseas film makers to understand all the rituals and their methods properly.

Holika was the sister of Hiranyakashayapa, who tortured his son Prahlad to worship him as his god. Holika sat with Prahlad, in a pyre. She was granted immunity towards the fire, but she died being burnt alive, Prahlad rescued scratch less. Since evil was burnt away in the pious fire, this event is celebrated as the win of good over evil.

Holi- the colors of India

Being the main event, this attracts tourists and enthusiasts from all around the world. This not only is celebrated as one of the major holidays/vacations all over India. Holi has a cultural, mythological and socially-rich history, making it a much-awaited festival.

On this day, the roads, the compounds, the air all are filled with colors, every basic color in hand’s reach. Not only does this induces an ultimate adrenaline rush in everyone, but it also compels them to enjoy forgetting their religion, caste, creed, race, and play as one.

Holi in Varanasi means the roads and the Ghats are poured in with water and color and fragrance of flowers-scented perfumes. Also, a glass of Thandai, a smoothie made with condensed milk, sugar, saffron, cardamom, and dry fruits, is prevalent in Uttar Pradesh. The people documenting these uses Professional camera and rigs equipment from the Equipment rental company in India to capture the smiling faces as well as the vibrant colors around.

Holi is a much sought-after festival, known to bring joy and harmony along with peace to all people.

India being a global startup hub has always come at the time, when nation needs it. At the time of Coronavirus pandemic, Indian startups are coming up with innovative ideas to deal with virus in the nation and protect its citizen.

Here, I will share you few emerging Indian Startups, where entrepreneurs are considering data from Chinese Covid19 experience to craft new technologies and other interesting techniques to curb the spread of deadly virus which is growing in number across India.

1. Uses drone to disinfect streets and buildings

As we may all know, during lockdown government has initiated only supply of essentials goods and services. There is extreme burden and huge responsibility on healthcare workers, sanitation workers, paramedics, doctors and nurses etc who are always in radar of the virus and can be easily exposed.

A 4-year old agri based startup from Chennai, Tamil Nadu known as Garuda Aerpspace has designed and crafted drones to work as a sprayer at public places, hospitals, on the street, metro stations, building, shops etc. The startup claims that drones can load 15-20 litres of disinfectants at once. The technology will extremely minimize the risk of workers in sanitation field. The startup has already stocked 300 drones; however they need more drone and pilot. Other state governments are already approaching them for assistance.

2. Quarantine Application tracking patients tested positive

The Quarantine App is still in the process of development by a group of entrepreneurs’ called to be Founders against COVID. The entrepreneurs states that the App will track Covid19 positive patients who are already quarantined by the health workers and doctors. The technology may severely help locals to ensure not to enter into risky locations. The App is expected to come soon which is yet in process of deliberation with Government authorities with regard to funding and data privacy.

3. Thermal camera detects body temperature above 37 degree in crowd

A Gurugram, Haryana located Artificial Intelligence Starts named to be Staqu has designed a Thermal Camera sensor which alerts the system when it founds people with beyond normal human body temperature which 37 degree celcius.

The Startup Company claims that the technology senses the heat with a range upto 100 meters and recognizes the suspected people with high temperature. The technology may assist health workers at Airports, Railway Stations, Hospitals and markets.

4. Antimicrobial surface protection shields

An automobile startup named to be Droom has innovated an antimicrobial surface shield which is also called to be CORONA SHIELD can protect cars and bikes against harmful microbes. The startup claims that on the CORONA SHIELD any microorganisms i.e bacteria, yeast, mold etc may knot grow.

As we all know that Coronavirus is physically contagious, where bacteria may pass on via frequently touched places.

5. Covid-19 Focused Microbiome test to alert you against any low immune

A Bengaluru, Karnataka based Startup founded in 2019 named to be Bione is pioneering startup in Healthcare industry. The Startup has launched an innovative kit named to be Longevity Plus Kit. The company claims that the kid provides important information with regard to susceptibility of people to viruses like Covid-19, HIV, Heptitis etc. The Startup states that the kit test analysis is based upon the person’s genetic structure.

This sounds to be a next level of innovation. The test kit uses artificial intelligence and shares evidences to individuals that how that person can build strong microbiome and can work on particular immunity system to fight against deadly virus.

However, the kit has not been tested on Covid-19 infected patients. It is still in process phase.

The numbers of Covid-19 in India is yet less as compare to other countries like China, Italy, US and Germany. But the number of patients is increasing day by day. Indian startups have to tighten their belt and prove themselves by innovating more ideas and helping the humankind to survive in times of civilizations’ greatest fights for existence.

Chambal’s Wild Forest is full of Mysteries Hidden in Darkness

[DISPLAY_ULTIMATE_SOCIAL_ICONS]

Boudh Valley is a wonderful and unique place featuring natural beauty. This place is located at a distance of 60 km from the district headquarters of Chitrakoot amid inaccessible and difficult paths surrounded by the Vindhya mountain ranges of Patha which set to be a perfect location for film shooting in Madhya Pradesh, India. There is an ancient temple of Lord Hanuman in this forest. It is said that here every wish is fulfilled only by the sight of the exclusive devotee of Lord Shri Ram. This place is full of natural beauty. In a way, it is in the lap of nature. There is also a natural waterfall and rock paintings.

The special thing is that legend is also associated with this forest. It is said that whoever goes to this forest does not come back. The forest is very dense. This area has always been a stronghold of dacoits, due to which it is still far from the reach of common people.

This place can become a major center of tourism for the entire Bundelkhand. Once a year the local people do the bhandara (Free Community food Offerings) etc. It can become a major center of tourism for the whole of Bundelkhand, but for this the government-administration will have to take concrete initiative. If you talk about this forest in detail, it is special in many ways.

First of all, in this forest where the waterfall falls and the caves are built, the whole place remains submerged in darkness, that is, the sunlight does not illuminate that part even in the day.

chambal forest in Madhya Pradesh fixer and line producer in India - Filming Indo

Another story about Bedhak’s forest is popular among common people. It is said that no person can stay in that forest at night, because there is the abode of the nymphs. It is said that here the voice of the knuckles of these fairy is heard overnight.

It is said that the forest of Bedhak was a major center for the austerity of sages in the ancient times. Regarding the idol of Lord Hanuman enshrined in Bedhak, it is believed that if you go there and ask for any vow from the heart, then it is definitely done. At present, this temple remains deserted, but sometimes the temple is cleaned and worshiped to God.

For the rest of the year, man’s entry into this forest is negligible. You can guess the danger of this forest from the fact that common people believe that going here means risking life. If we talk about the way to reach this forest, then there are many ways, but to get inside here, the path goes through Nhi village. Surrounded by quite rocky paths and bushes, this forest is very quiet.

However, the way to go to Bhedak is still inaccessible and difficult, so it is better if you do not go there alone because there are all kinds of ferocious animals in the jungle at this time. Well there are two ways to go here. The first route goes through Nhi village. The forest itself is about 10-15 km away and the other one goes through the Border Valley and the other one is from Madhya Pradesh border where you can go from Pratappur.

Overall, the forest of Bedhak is still very dense and contains natural beauty in itself. The forest under Ranipur Wildlife Sanctuary has immense potential for tourism. In a few days, when this sanctuary will become a tiger reserve park, then the reach of tourists to such places will surely increase.

Drone Photography, Videography and Rental Services in India | Filming Indo

Films have been prevalent in India for more than decades. It involves the constant modifications and advancements that happened over time, which lead us to certain technological ramifications. This includes aerial filming and bird-eye view shooting. The bird-eye view is rather modern than other aerial filming methods. They not only provided a new horizon to the filming world but also gives the viewers a new perception of watching movies. This advancement involved the production houses of India with many new career aspects, including different camera-angle experts, moving camera experts, different cinematographers, and other photography professionals.

For example, Drone videography for corporate film production and TV Commercials or Music video, geographical photography, drone videography for documentary, aerial survey, drone wedding photography, topological photography, photo and videography of hard-to-reach places, which are almost impossible to reach by any mode of ground transport. Apart from these, certain archaeological, and surveillance and photography also involve aerial experts and photographers to perform their expertise for completing a task. thus making aerial filming a better option for documentaries as well.

How is Aerial Photography in India done?

Previously aerial photography and videography was done through the help of cranes, helicopters, and many other complicated methods. but with India being the world’s largest producer of films, finding time to book cranes, and helicopters are impossible.

Now with the help of such advanced technologies aerial filming or you can also say drone Photograpy and videography has become very common and easy. Drones (UAV) in particular are the best option for aerial filming. You don’t have to pay a heavy bill for helicopters and cranes. Rather you need a trained pilot to be able to control the drone and with the best type of drones on rent in India you can easily produce the very best aerial shots of India possible.

What are the Drone flying rules in India?

To own or keep a drone according to the Indian government rules you must register every drone. you just get a license to fly drone Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India.

  • No, take off policy

Before every take you must inform and take permission from a mobile app. the system will automatically accept or reject your request based on the situation. if a pilot tries to take off the drone without permission he or she will simply not be able to take off. permission is taken from the digital sky platform.

  • Drone zones

There are certain places in India where it is prohibited to fly a drone. or you may need really special permission. places like airports, runways, vital military installations.

Can International film makers (Foreigners) bring drone in India?

Non- Indian civilians are not allowed to film via drones and if you want to film for commercial purposes then you need to do different types of paperwork. That can be a long process

Directorate General of Civil Aviation had released India’s policy on Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR) for drones (UAVs) on 27th August, 2018. You may Read the full ruling here (Section 3–Air Transport, Series X, Part I).

What do Filming Indo provides in India?

There are many other strict rules to keep in mind. And a creator doing all this work will be a waste of your time and energy. So it is best to hire a Drone rental company in India that can rest drones and pilots. Companies that charge per day prices for drones and pilots rental services. Why is Film Censorship in India a Cause to Worry?

Film censorship in India has been in practice since the year 1952. Indian law restricts certain scenes from movies as irrelevant for public entertainment. The act of censorship in India allows the Central Bureau of Film Certification (CBFC) to restrict movies and specific scenes from the film that goes against the Indian Constitution.

Why Are Movies In India Relevant?

Movies are not only sources of entertainment for the people of India, but also they hold important messages for society. In this digital world full of advanced technology, people do not go by myths, but they believe what they observe in reality. Movies act as stress busters to most of the people of the society. But they hold the present situation, a list of events going on in the community in front of the people.

Putting a ban on certain movies and scripts stops people from knowing the reality and truth behind the fake political and religious figures. Indian constitution suggests the people of India be sovereign and democratic. These are important for maintaining the harmony and sense of brotherhood among all the citizens. But it is wrong to keep the citizens away from the truth of society.

What Does Film Censorship Do In India?

Some producers and directors from the Indian film industry prefer making movies based on truth and reality. The film censorship in India bans those movies which suppress freedom of speech. The Indian film censorship board goes against the right to knowledge and curtails the right to express. It stops the generation from gaining knowledge based on the present situation of the society.

The age restrictions to movies having pornographic scenes and influential languages are not necessary as children of this generation are technically as well as mentally advanced than the previous generations. They grow in a society of cruelty and corruption. It is better to let them face the truth than to keep it away from them.

Line producers – Just how important are they in documentary and film Production?

A motion picture is the artwork of a whole troupe of people. The team that goes behind every motion picture is just represented by the actors as the face of the film. Just as how every household has the main person in charge, the budget in charge, etc. the film industry also has certain important roles to be performed. Some of the more well-known roles are directors, producers, cameramen, and stunt artists. Among these unsung heroes are another very important group of people called the line producers.

Who are Line Producers?

Line producers are among the very first people to be employed to work on a motion picture. Typically, he/she is in charge of the budgeting of the film. They take care of the costs involved in the production of the film. They are employed by the directors and the executive producers. Unlike producers, a line producer works on the field. This allows them to, therefore work on only one film at a time, unlike executive producers who produce various films at the same time. As mentioned above, they have work on the field at shooting spots. Therefore, having a local line producer will be more helpful for the project. A local line producer can understand the needs and will be able to procure the necessary materials very easily since he/she knows the lay of the land in their city.

Importance of Line Producers

These days, line production has become a company by itself – i.e. like production houses in India, there are line production houses in different cities of India. Filming Indo Company is one of the well-known and best line producers in New Delhi. Line production is not just for big-scale movie films. This is an integral part of documentaries and short films as well. One of the very well-known and established line producers in Delhi who works pan India is Filming Indo, They have projects ranging from documentaries to music videos across the country from Delhi to Tamil Nadu.

Line Producers in Delhi

Although India as a country encourages and supports film culture everywhere when it comes to shooting and securing permissions from different authorities in India becomes a problem. Even in certain cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai, where it is supposedly easy to shoot, directors face lots of difficulties. Recently Delhi, which has always been considered the most film-friendly city, lost that position to UP. The reasons listed were that there were huge permission issues and a lack of proper streamlining of the process of securing permissions especially from certain places like the airports. Line producers in Delhi have met with different agencies in Delhi to streamline this process of getting film permissions and have also collaborated with the Delhi tourism department. The movement to promote Delhi’s environment and certain exquisite shooting spots have been made critical with production houses, agencies and state government departments working to achieve the same.

India made its gangster-ruling movie, gangs of wasseypur, back in 2012. It also depicts how ruthless fights for land and self-respect can be, including countless bloodshed and loss. All criticism apart, the portrayal of the story into a perfect blend of revenge and drama and anger and lust and all other emotions makes it truly a decade, or shall we say a century classic.
